2. Policy copy vs verbal “covered sir”

In India, many doorstep crews still say “sab covered hai sir.” That sentence is not a policy. Transit cover exists only when it is written:

3. Complementary ₹50,000 vs full declared-value at 3%

Two products. Not a menu of invented plans.

4. How to declare value (so the 3% means something)

Declared value is the amount you write down before loading — typically a signed inventory with a rupee figure per carton or per major item, plus a total. Under-declaring to shrink the 3% charge also shrinks the claim. Over-declaring without a matching inventory is equally useless: the insurer and our claims desk will ask for the list you signed, not a later WhatsApp total.

1. List items / cartons on the pre-move inventory (survey or loading copy).
2. Put a rupee value next to high-value lines (electronics, furniture sets, appliances).
3. Sign the total declared value.
4. If you want full-value cover, confirm that 3% of that total is printed on the quotation.
5. Keep a photo of the signed inventory and the quotation PDF.

Jewellery, cash, and undocumented antiques are outside ordinary household transit cover unless they are written onto the declaration. We will not invent a special product for them on this page. Raise them at survey; we will say in writing what we can and cannot carry.

5. Claims: GST invoice + signed inventory

A transit-damage or shortage claim is a document file, not a phone argument. You need:

• A signed inventory from loading / delivery, matching what was on the truck.
